Eight tourist walks

We can only really soak up the spirit and history of a town by taking the time to walk through it, to stop and raise our eyes. This is the time when we notice that not all the house look the same, that one ancient architecture or more contemporary one almost always meets the needs, aspirations and contingencies of the period when it was built. In this way, Neuchâtel provides much interest for those who would like to view the town from a town-planning perspective.

The guide includes the itineraries for the following 8 walks:

  1. From the Station to Place Pury
  2. A Castle walk
  3. A walk through the lower town
  4. A Faubourg Walk
  5. A walk through the English Garden
  6. A Collegiate walk
  7. A Champrevèyres walk
  8. A Botanical Garden Walk

Currently only available in French and German.

Funi-Nature

The Funi-nature guide allows one to discover nature and the forest of Mt. Chaumont, having climbed it first by funicular (a 573m altitude gain in 15 minutes).

Admire the panorama of the three lakes from the Chaumont Tower and set off down the Time Trail that hides numerous discoveries to return to Neuchâtel.

Currently only available in French and German.

The Time Trail

This guide offers a walk of 4.5km from Chaumont to the Roche de l’Ermitage. More than just a simple walk, this walk will allow you to discover the wonderful history of evolution of life on Earth (one metre represents a thousand years).

Along the length of the trail, you will come across sculptures made of wood, representing the species which lived on our earth through the passage of time.
